Perched on the very tip of the Isle of Thanet, Broadstairs is one of the most loved seaside towns on the Kent coast. Its sweeping sandy bays, colourful beach huts and relaxed coastal atmosphere make it a favourite for visitors looking for a classic seaside escape with a touch of character.

Spend the day swimming at Viking Bay, discover the quieter charm of Stone Bay, or walk the clifftop paths towards Joss Bay for sweeping sea views. The town itself is full of independent cafés, welcoming restaurants and traditional pubs, while Margate and Ramsgate are just minutes away for galleries, marinas and further coastal adventures.

Whether you visit in the height of summer or during the quieter months when the sea air feels wonderfully bracing, Broadstairs offers a timeless coastal rhythm that keeps visitors returning year after year.

Our Broadstairs holiday lets are perfect bases for exploring the area and are available for short breaks and longer stays throughout the year. We offer a direct-booking alternative and a more personal service to the larger platforms. Whether you’re planning a summer escape, a winter coastal retreat or a last-minute weekend by the sea, you’ll find thoughtfully designed homes in prime Broadstairs locations.

From relaxed cafés and wine bars to destination restaurants worth travelling for, the town’s food scene combines coastal simplicity with genuine culinary ambition. This is celebrated each year through events such as the Broadstairs Food Festival and seasonal food and drink events that showcase local producers, chefs and Kentish ingredients. Whether you’re booking an intimate table at 15m2, enjoying seafood classics at Kebbells Seafood Bar, settling in with a glass of wine at Bar Ingo, or starting the day at favourites like Forts CafeSALT or Namaka Cafe, Broadstairs offers a food scene that’s varied, welcoming and full of local character.

Things Guests Ask About Broadstairs

How close are Harmony Hills properties to Viking Bay?
We have several properties that are a very short walk from Viking Bay. Casa Musica, Belmont Retreat & Westfield Lodge are probably the nearest.
Is Broadstairs good for families?
Broadstairs is an excellent destination for families. A great mix of traditional seaside, rainy day activities (just in case) and family friendly restaurants means there is something for everyone.
Can you walk from Broadstairs to Ramsgate?
Yes! It's a really pleasant walk but watch the tides if you take the lower promenade as some of the route are only accessible at low tide. There are great bus and train links for the journey back if you're not up to the walk both ways!
How far is Broadstairs from London
