Indulge in fine dining at Michelin Star Restaurant Stark, Sargasso on the harbour arm or Wyatt & Jones on the beach.

Since Turner Contemporary opened in Margate in 2011, something extraordinary has taken place. Come through the doors, and you might encounter a new artwork, be inspired by the current exhibition and get engrossed in an activity, tour or conversation. From the windows, you can observe the skies and light that inspired the man himself, JMW Turner (1775-1851), during his visits to Margate.

The shop collaborates with local artists and makers to create something unique and enhance your experience. Whilst you’re there, relax and enjoy something to eat in the café which sources its menu from Kent-based producers and has unrivalled views of the harbour.

Take in the sights and sounds of a working harbour with a beautiful selection of sailing and powerboats at the UK’s only Royal Harbour. The harbour has played an important role through recent history, as one of the main embarkation harbours during the Napoleonic wars. During WWII Operation Dynamo was launched and an assortment of yachts, motor cruisers, fishing boats and other small craft assembled at Ramsgate, before crossing to Dunkirk to ferry men from the beaches to waiting ships. Sit enjoying the view at one of the many surrounding stylish bars, cafes and restaurants. The historic waterfront of Ramsgate has a lively cosmopolitan feel. Select an alfresco café, sip a drink and see the yachts bobbing in the picturesque marina – this Cinque Port is the only ‘Royal Harbour’ in the country. Enjoy sandy bays alongside a working marina.

Dreamland is a day out with a difference and brings together lovingly restored vintage rides set against the backdrop of the beach…and so much more!

It has adventurous street food from around the world served from vintage trucks, unique bars, art installations, and an eclectic programme of live events.

The ride line-up features the UK’s oldest wooden roller coaster – the grade 2* listed Scenic Railway, Wedgwood Tea Cups, and the painstakingly restored 1940s Waltzer, alongside Soaring Seagulls, Dreamcatcher, Air Force, and Up, Up and Away .

Undercover, there’s lots to experience at Dreamland. Skate around to a selection of music in the retro Roller Disco or check out the vintage arcades and pinball machines.
